VAST Tigers Youth Training Program
The Armstrong Speed and Conditioning Program brings together both sport specific drills and basic running drills. The program will emphasize Lateral Movements, Reaction Drills, Form Running, Agility Speed and also Front Running Speed. Another aspect of this program is ply-o-metric training for all levels. The athletes will progress to more challenging drills which will focus on explosiveness, overall speed, and improve balance. Ply-o-metrics will make the athlete stronger and improve jumping ability greatly.
The idea is to train the body through repetition to react quick which will in turn transform an average runner into a more efficient and quick runner, and a quick runner into a more effective disciplined runner. Few people understand that the base of any sport is running and with proper running technique an athlete can progress exponentially.
